Parrocchia San Francesco Saverio

Restoration & Renovation of the Garbatella Parish Complex, Rome, IT.

TYPE OF WORK
COMPLETED

2024

The restoration project for the San Francesco Saverio complex in Garbatella focused on the façades of the two twin parish buildings adjacent to the church of the same name, with the aim of restoring and enhancing an important part of the neighbourhood’s architectural heritage.

The project arose from a desire to restore identity and dignity to a complex that was severely dilapidated and partly vandalised. Developed in constant consultation with the Superintendency, the project was accompanied by careful research aimed at identifying the original colours and authentic characteristics of the surfaces.

Through the restoration of the finishes and the establishment of a new chromatic balance, the buildings have regained their architectural identity and their role within the urban fabric of Garbatella, giving the community a renewed and revitalised space.
